The programme will present a wide range of approaches to sound art and related fields, ranging from noise and drone manipulations to concert-installations, sculptural percussive works and arrangements of real-time field recordings. Using prepared and alternate methods of playing the guitar, along with various electronic effects, Baker creates music which generally falls within the ambient\/experimental genre but draws on influences from postrock, shoegaze, electronica, neo-classical, and jazz. A highly prolific artist, Baker has released numerous recorded works, both solo and with various group projects\u2014most notably his dreamsludge duo project, Nadja\u2014and including collaborations with Tim Hecker, Carla Bozulich, Thor Harris, and Gareth Davis, among others\u2014on such independent labels as Gizeh Records, Important Records, Alien8 Recordings, and his own imprint, Broken Spine Productions. A frequent live<br>performer, Baker has toured extensively around the world, including appearances at such international festivals as FIMAV, SXSW, Incubate, Unsound, and Mutek, to name a few. [MULTER] spielt keine St\u00fccke, sondern sucht Stimmungen, greift sie auf, isoliert, reduziert, verst\u00e4rkt, transformiert sie. Ihre Detektoren sind vielseitig und nach jeweiligem Ermessen sofort einsetzbar: Gitarren, Bleche, H\u00f6lzer, Effektger\u00e4te, Synthesizer, Schlag- und Reibwerke, Samples (die mitunter erst kurz vor oder w\u00e4rend eines Konzertes aufgenommen werden). [MULTER] zieht aus der \u00d6rtlichkeit Energie, macht sie transparent<br>und gibt sie zur\u00fcck. Unter dem Namen \u201eAnima Sound\u201c betrieb sie zwanzig Jahre lang Klangforschung zusammen mit ihrem damaligen Lebenspartner, dem Bildhauer Paul Fuchs. Porcelain bowls, water drops, waves and bubbles as well as hydrophonic feedback and electronics are the main ingredients of her instrument that generates the sculptural and fluid timbre. Her musical experimentation is grounded on a live-performance-based practice that investigates the improvisation and interaction with the environment &#8211; the acoustic space and medium affected by architecture, temperature, humidity and human presence.<br>Through primordial elements augmented by technology, enlivened by ritualistic yet playful gestures, Sauvage&#8217;s work contemplates, tunes and connects with both the material and the immaterial in keeping a fragile balance between hazard and mastery.<br>Supported by La Pommerie\/ CRAFT (creation of the porcelain bowls, Limousin, France) and Aquarian Audio (Hydrophones, USA)<br>Born and raised in Yokohama, Japan, Sauvage moved to Paris in 2003 after studying jazz piano in New York. Through listening to Alice Coltrane and Terry Riley, she became interested in Indian music and studied improvisation of Hindustani music. In 2006, she attended a concert of<br>Aanayampatti Ganesan, a virtuoso of Jalatharangam \u2013 the traditional Carnatic music instrument with water-filled porcelain bowls. Fascinated by the simplicity of its device and sonority, Sauvage immediately started to hit China bowls with chopsticks in her kitchen. Soon her desire of immersing<br>herself in the water engendered the idea of using an underwater microphone and led to the birth of the electro-aquatic instrument.<br>Sauvage has published two solo albums including the recent &#8222;Musique Hydromantique&#8220; (Shelter Press, 2017). Her compositions have been diffused on radios and TV&#8217;s such as BBC, France Musique, NPR, ORF and Deutschlandfunk Kultur. Sauvage&#8217;s performance has been presented at<br>international festivals and venues including : The Long Now &#8211; Maerz Musik (Berlin), Centre Popidou Metz, Roskilde Festival, Unsound Festival (Krakow), Nyege Nyege Festival (Uganda), V&amp;A Museum (London), Museo Reina Sofia (Madrid) and Riga International Biennial of Contemporary Art. Her installation work has been exhibited at art centers and museums such as :<br>Sharjah Art Foundation (UAE), Ex Teresa (Mexico City) and Empty Gallery (Hong Kong).
