Peter Cusack arbeitet als \u201cfield recordist\u201d, Klangk\u00fcnstler und Musiker. Sein Hauptinteresse liegt im Bereich der \u201cacoustic ecology\u201d. Sein Vortrag im Rahmen des Ger\u00e4uschwelten Festivals behandelt die sogenannten \u2018Sounds From Dangerous Places\u2019. Hierbei reist Cusack an Orte, die durch besondere Zerst\u00f6rung gepr\u00e4gt sind (z.B. in die Sperrzone von Tschernobyl) und macht dort in einer Art \u201csonic journalism\u201d Aufnahmen von Natur, Menschen und Maschinen. Zu diesem Projekt erschien 2012 eine Buch\/CD-Ver\u00f6ffentlichung, herausgegeben vom DAAD und ReR. Peter Cusack ist research fellow in \u2018Sound Arts & Design\u2019 am London College of Communication und produziert Radioprogramme zur acoustic ecology f\u00fcr Resonance FM. Er hat zahlreiche CDs ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Als Musiker war er in den 1970er Jahren vor allem in der Londoner Improvisationsszene aktiv und war u.a. Mitglied der legend\u00e4ren Gruppe The Alterations um David Toop und Steve Beresford.<\/p>\n

Peter Cusack works as a field recordist, sound artist and musician with a special interest in acoustic ecology. He initiated the \u201cFavourite Sounds Project\u201d to discover what people find positive about their everyday sound environment and \u2018Sounds From Dangerous Places\u2019 (described as sonic journalism) that investigates the soundscapes of sites of major environmental damage such as the Caspian oil fields and the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
\nHe produced ‚Vermilion Sounds‘ – the environmental sound program – for ResonanceFM Radio, London, is a research fellow in \u2018Sound Arts & Design\u2019 at the London College of Communication and was DAAD artist-in-residence in Berlin during 2011\/12, where he instigated \u2018Berlin Sonic Places\u2019 a wide-ranging collaborative project that examines the relationship between urban soundscapes and city development.
