\u201ebroken sound\u201c startete 2009 als Konzertreihe f\u00fcr Ger\u00e4uschmusik, Experimentalelektronik und Noise \u2013 benannt nach einem St\u00fcck des schwedischen Avantgarde-Komponisten Sten Hanson (der beim Auftaktkonzert live performte). Mit Sten Hansons Tod im Winter 2013 geht \u201ebroken sound\u201c mit der 17. Ausgabe zu Ende \u2013 der Kreis schliest sich. Zum gro\u00dfen Finale wird das Thema \u201eAmbient\u201c noch einmal aus verschiedenen Perspektiven beleuchtet. Der Altmeister Thomas K\u00f6ner l\u00e4sst seine bassig-abstrakten, fragilen Landschaften entstehen und untermalt diese mit entschleunigten Bildern. Der Brite Jonathan Coleclough geht von konkreten Kl\u00e4ngen und Feldger\u00e4uschen aus, um einen bizarren Soundscape in Echtzeit entstehen zu lassen. Und mit dem franz\u00f6sschen Projekt Kassel Jaeger kommt eine unserer Entdeckungen erstmals nach K\u00f6ln. Rituelle Akusmatik k\u00f6nnte das Schlagwort sein. Dunkel fiebrige Kl\u00e4nge werden im Raum platziert, die Finesse des GRM Klangregisseurs, der Kassel Jaeger im echten Leben ist, schl\u00e4gt in seinen Drone-Improv-Performances zu Buche. Ein dunkler Abschied….
\n\u201ebroken sound\u201c wird kuratiert von Till Kniola\/aufabwegen und gef\u00f6rdert durch das Kulturamt der Stadt K\u00f6ln und das Ministerium f\u00fcr Familie, Kinder, Jugend, Kultur und Sport des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen.<\/p>\n

THOMAS K\u00d6NER
\nThomas K\u00f6ner, geboren 1965 in Dortmund, arbeitet als Medienk\u00fcnstler mit Musik, Video, H\u00f6rspiel und Installationen. Weltweite Pr\u00e4sentationen in Museen (Louvre, Walker Art Center, Centre Pompidou) und auf Festivals (Biennale Venedig, Sonar Barcelona).
\n2004 erhielt er die \u201eGoldene Nica\u201c\u00a0(Prix Ars Electronica).\u2028CD-Ver\u00f6ffentlichungen auf Touch und MillePlateaux.
\nKollaborationsprojekte u.a. mit Ulrich Krieger, J\u00fcrgen Reble, Asmus Tietchens (als Kontakt der J\u00fcnglinge) und Andy Mellweg (als Porter Ricks).

JONATHAN COLECLOUGH
\nJonathan Coleclough is a composer who transforms the delicate sounds of everyday objects into mysterious and sensuous music. Starting from raw sounds as diverse as water boiling on a stove, sheep bells ringing on a remote hillside or pins dropping onto the floor, he creates music of richly textured drones and fragile details. Sometimes the music is far removed from the original sources, at other times it exposes and explores fine details of the sounds.
\nIn solo performance this process of transformation of the everyday is made explicit by live video projections that show close-up details of him using the objects that serve as his instruments: a sheet of glass, a burning sparkler, a metal bowl, a melting ice cube.
\nHe also makes sound installations which offer listeners an opportunity to explore a created sound world at their own pace. These installations incorporate sound material from the environment where they are located.
\nHe has performed in the UK, Europe, Australia, USA and Japan.
\nIn 2012 Jonathan was a guest member of The Sonic Catering Band on their Food Science CD release ( http:\/\/www.soniccatering.com\/ ), and was also one of many contributors to the soundtrack of director Peter Strickland\u2019s well-received \u2018Berberian Sound Studio\u2019 feature film ( http:\/\/warp.net\/films\/berberian-sound-studio & http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/film\/2012\/aug\/30\/berberian-sound-studio-review ). Jonathan is currently preparing new and archival releases for his own October Editions label ( http:\/\/www.coleclough.plus.com\/ ), and slowly completing a piece of music based on samples of flute playing by Theo Travis ( http:\/\/www.theotravis.com\/ ).
