On \u201cQuadrat\u201d:
\nQuadrat is the title of Konrad Kraft\u2019s (aka Detlef Funder) newest album, this time released on 12\u201c vinyl.
\nIn some ways this album constitutes a kind of continuation of his previous work, which started with Temporary Audiosculptures. A sound manifestation of imaginary, sculptural and graphic structures.
\nLike before, the production concentrates, in a more diffused way than in his previous album, on adding compositorial characteristics to graphic-geometric structures.
\nThe result is a formal Grammatik of complex sound structures existing of wanted and indeed unwanted sounds and improvised moments.
\nFragmentary passages join homogeneous ones, spatial agglomerations follow cut-ups, acoustic adhesion meets simmering hotspots.
\nQuadrat is clearly more poetical than his last album. Reduction and occasional use of minimalistic tonality and rhythm are in the forefront, and invite for sound excursions.
\nThe dogmatic choice of electronic sound production as well as the extreme manipulation of field recordings, allows for the formation of an abstract electronic parallel world.
\nA limited edition of 10 albums containing line drawings by Detlef Funder in the format of a square LP is also available (Quadrat 1 \u2013 10).

\n1979 \u2013 Purchase of first semi-modular synthesiser.
\n1982 \u2013 Creation of experimental and avantgarde music project \u201cKonrad Kraft\u201c. Various tapes and CDs as well as compilation tracks are published.
\n1988 \u2013 1994 Co-founder of the D\u00fcsseldorf based music label \u201cSDV-Tontr\u00e4ger\u201d. 1990 \u2013 2011 Producer of electronic music (experimental, ambient, techno) and work as DJ and live-acts worldwide (\u201cKonrad Kraft\u201d, \u201cGilgamesch\u201d, \u201cD-Fundation\u201d, \u201cDetson Engineering\u201d & \u201cFour Carry Nuts\u201d).
