Auf dem Cover des Albums finden sich drei prall gef\u00fcllte Mohnkapseln, der Titel verweist ebenfalls auf (die) Ver\u00e4nderung des Bewusstseins und der leicht psychedelische Touch, den das Album dadurch erh\u00e4lt, passt gut zur Musik. Hallucination Picturebook<\/strong> ist meilenweit vom Gothic entfernt, stattdessen erinnern die (teils auf Englisch, teils auf Deutsch vorgetragenen) Songs viel eher an die idiosynkratischen Visionen der Legendary Pink Dots, ein Vergleich, der besonders durch die Stimme des S\u00e4ngers Chris Goellnitz nahe gelegt wird, der sich doch manchmal (zu?) sehr nach Edward Ka-Spel anh\u00f6rt. Die fast durchweg getragenen Songs sind atmosph\u00e4risch dicht, wobei es auch Momente auf diesem Album gibt (Reise<\/strong> oder Ophelia<\/strong> seien da zu nennen), die musikalisch wie textlich etwas ins allzu S\u00fc\u00dfliche abdriften. Gelungener (weil psychedelischer) sind da St\u00fccke wie das lange Polaris<\/strong>.
