Ambient pioneer Paul Schütze releases new double CD

The Mosaic Of Starlight Slips Back Like The Lid Of An Opening Eye
This piece is the newest element in the ongoing Garden Of  Instruments  project which began in 1997 with  Second Site. Since then the project has expanded to include sound, writings, video, virtual photography, printmaking, light-boxes, installations and lenticulars. The new piece, which at 124 minutes is broken across two CDs, further explores the astronomical/architectural phenomena of the Janta Manta instruments. To me they have always stood as monuments that collapse the illusions of time and place: non places that bend chronology and thinking in unprecedented ways; physical markers of paradigm shift and poly sensory exploration.
