09/2018 — Oliver Ross, Chris Mann & Dimitry Vasilyev
aufabwegen has learned that three noble human beings have left the planet recently. Oliver Ross (last working for PIAS) has been a tome of sanity in the crazy music „business“ and was a supportive figure in the early days of aufabwegen magazine. We met Oliver when he was working for Hyperium and our lengthy phone conversations about Clock DVA and good music in general will be remembered forever. Thanks for all Oliver!
The sound poet and performer Chris Mann was a member of Aussie media collective Machines For Making Sense. We had the pleasure of working with Chris when co-hosting a performance at Klangzeit Festival in Münster in 2004. We remember Chris as a warm-hearted, very funny and bright character. Some photos of his performamce by Andreaz Vogel can be found here.
Dimitry Vasilyev ran the Monochrome Vision label out of Moscow, Russia. aufabwegen regularily corresponded with Dimitry and we happily exchanged records and thoughts. He was an avid supporter of experimental music and a very active mushroom expert.
